Training

The big day is fast approaching and I'm working on putting together a plan for a video game playlist. I won't be able to sit in front of the tv for the straight 24 hours, so I'm going to have to alternate between console games and hand helds. The advantage to that is that I'll be able to get up and walk around while still participating in the Marathon.

I'm still looking towards the marathon with equal parts excitement and trepidation. Hopefully my eyes still function properly afterwards!

Charity!

So on October 15th, starting at 8:00 am, fueled by water, caffeine and my dad's Chili, my wife Jenn and I will be taking part in a 24 hr marathon to support the Children's Miracle Network, and more specifically the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Those of you that know me at all know that I am a big fan of video games. However, I rarely play for more than 2-3 hours at a stretch. 24 hours is going to be a huuuuge challenge for me, physically and mentally, but at the same time, it will be a lot of fun, and a great way to do what I love, while helping sick kids.

I'm going to do my best to follow the spirit of the marathon and try for a straight 24 hour gaming marathon, but it might need to be interupted slightly in between. Regardless, I will absolutely do 24 hours between Friday, October 14th and Sunday October 16th. Totally for the kids.

I will try to take infrequent breaks to update the blog during the marathon, and will also tweet/facebook as well. Only during loading screens or cutscenes of course.

Help me reach my goal of $250!!
